Lesson Plan: JOB
Temat PRACA to jeden z głównych tematów, które interesują dorosłych słuchaczy kursów językowych. U podstaw decyzji o zapisaniu się na zajęcia językowe w wielu przypadkach leży właśnie praca (przyszła lub obecna). Poniższy plan lekcji świetnie nadaje się dla słuchaczy dorosłych. Stanowi doskonałe wprowadzenie do całego rozdziału, oferuje podstawowe słownictwo, które z lekcji na lekcję będzie poszerzane. Już po pierwszych zajęciach (przeprowadzonych według poniższego planu), słuchacz będzie umiał scharakteryzować swoją pracę (swoje obowiązki i możliwości).

Aims:
- To revise and teach new vocabulary (occupations, duties at work)
- To practise modal verbs (mainly modals of obligation)
- To develop speaking fluency

2. | FOLLOW-UP | “I know someone who does the job” – Students tick the professions which are done by they relatives and friends. They then choose one and tell the partner about this person and his/her job (their attitude towards it – do they like it or not, how long have they been doing it etc). | pair work | 6 |
3. | VOCABULARY PRESENTATION (duties at work) | Teacher shows the class expressions connected with duties at work (appendix 2). Students state which jobs the expressions can match. They can justify their answers. | whole class activity | 5 |
4. | GRAMMAR PRESENTATION | Teacher writes down/ shows on the screen several sentences depicting the use of modal verbs in the context of duties at work (on the basis of the vocabulary from the previous exercise) (appendix 3). 5. | PRACTISE/PRODUCTION (speaking) a guessing game | Students draw cards with the names of occupations. Each students gets a different occupation. They should describe their duties at work and the job specification so that the rest of the group could guess which job they do. (appendix 4) | whole class activity | 15 |
