Teacher-friendly Tips on Student-friendly Teaching – INTRO
The blog
Intended as a repository of very individualised and subjective teaching ideas, tips and materials that are by no means universally applicable, but should be transformed, evaluated, criticised, discussed and adjusted to the needs of different adult (or, possibly, adolescent) Students.

Why Student-friendly?
The aim of the blog is to present some teaching concepts that will help Teachers build better and more friendly* relationships with their adult Students – individuals who deserve to be treated as our equals, clients and partners.
* i.e. based on mutual understanding, trust, respect and tolerance; open, fair, pleasant for both sides, but also characterised by reasonable strictness and discipline, demanding and language needs-oriented.
Why Teacher-friendly?
The tips given here are easy to apply. You neither need too much preparation or training, nor any extra skills or equipment to be able to make use of the ideas in practice.
In a nutshell, Student-friendly teaching is…
…all about changing our attitude and way of working. If we assume that any teaching situation consists of three basic components: Students, the Teacher and the Context (the curriculum, surroundings, equipment, weather, etc.), it becomes apparent that the only element that we can change is ourselves, since we have little, if any, influence on the remaining constituents. If we accept such a view on teaching, we can make a difference by improving our relationships with Students by transforming the way we treat and teach them.
